Frequently Asked Questions about Spaceships

1. Are xenocrystals resources? Can I gain or lose them through orbital/planetary events?
No, xenocrystals are not resources. You can only acquire one if you purchase it, and they are not lost. However, they do take up storage space.
2. What is the first and last resource in the resource queue?
The first resource is the last one added to the resource row (the leftmost one). The last resource is the one that will be moved to the Colony Row (the rightmost one).
3. If I am forced to damage my shields, but I have no shields, what happens?
Damage to your shields does not affect the ship's hull. If you have no shields, nothing happens. If you have only one shield, you lose only one shield.
4. If I buy new ship parts and hire a new crew member, does the Upgrade Row automatically have 2 cards from that point on, or do I have to fill the space somewhere?
You don't refill it immediately; you do it at the end of your turn. Move two cards from the Colony Row to the Improvement Row before moving one card from the Improvement Row to the Resource Row. Then, the Colony Row will have only one card, so you'll need to move two cards from the Resource Row to bring it back to three.
5. If you don't have enough megacredits to buy something you want, can you willingly damage your ship to get the difference?
No. You can go into debt as much as you want, but you can't damage your ship unless an event forces you to pay more money than you have.
