ANIMALS
Plant (0): The plant is considered an animal.
Lizard (4): Only animals that are on the map can be discarded.
Bat (6): When an animal moves to "any other space", it can move any distance to any empty space, ignoring the orthogonal movement restriction. It cannot remain in the same space and cannot stack on top of or under another animal.
Raccoon (8): Only animals that are on the map can be discarded.
Fox (9): When this ability is activated, predators can only eat prey of a value 1, 2 or 3 lower than their own.
Lynx (10): The next predator must jump over another animal to eat prey two spaces away. When this ability is active, predators can only eat prey with a value 1, 2, or 3 lower than their own.
Wolf (11): Move the entire Wolf stack when resolving its ability.
Tiger (12): The next predator can move in multiple directions, for example, up and to the right, to reach its prey. When this ability is active, predators can only eat prey with a value of 1, 2, or 3 lower than their own.
Caiman (13): Generally, when an animal eats, it moves on top of the animal being eaten. So, if the Caiman eats the Tiger, the Caiman moves to the space adjacent to the Tiger and gets on top of the Tiger. After the Caiman eats, the next move does the opposite, so the animal being eaten moves and gets under the animal eating it. So, if the Lynx eats the Fox, the Fox moves and gets under the Lynx. When this ability is active, predators can only eat prey with a value 1, 2, or 3 lower than their own.
Leo (14): The value of the prey must be one less than the value of the predator that eats it.
MARINE ANIMALS
Shark: The Shark's ability ignores all "next turn" abilities that were activated on the previous turn. These abilities still apply even when the Shark's ability is not resolving. For example, if the Polar Bear ate on the previous turn, it normally couldn't eat again this turn, but it can while the Shark's ability is resolving. The Predator's ability still activates, as the ability causes the animal to eat. Each time an animal eats, its ability activates unless otherwise stated.
Whale: When an animal moves to "any other space," it can move any distance to any empty space, ignoring the orthogonal movement restriction. It cannot remain in the same space and cannot stack on top of or under another animal.
Octopus: Has no effect on the plant (0), the bat (6), the wolf (11) or the polar bear (15).
Dolphin: The predator's ability continues to activate because the ability causes an animal to eat. Each time an animal eats, its ability activates unless otherwise stated.
FLYING ANIMALS
Eagle: This can only be used when there are 9 or fewer animals left on the map. Take 3 animals that are adjacent to each other in the same row or column, leaving the rest of their piles (if they were part of a pile) in their corresponding places (i.e., only take the top card of the pile). These 3 animals are shuffled and randomly placed back into each of the spaces where they were previously taken.
