We are pleased to announce the launch of DIABLES, a new eurogame by Dani Garcia, with illustrations by Amelia Sales and Dossom Studio, which will seek funding on Gamefound in July.
Diables is a medium-heavy eurogame in which 1 to 4 players lead a "colla" (group) within the spectacular Mediterranean tradition of the Ball de Diables (Dance of Devils). You will have to manage the different members of the colla, the different types of firecrackers, and the different events to create the most exciting shows, impress the audience, and achieve the greatest prestige.
The Ball de Diables (Dance of Devils) is a medieval Catalan tradition, also found in Valencia, the Balearic Islands, and some areas of southern France. It is a widespread tradition; currently, there are hundreds of "colles" (groups that organize them) that participate in many popular festivals. The Diables carry maces with pyrotechnic elements as they run and dance among the crowd attending the show, all to the sound of the Tabalers, who accompany the Diables playing their tabales (a percussion instrument similar to a drum). In addition, it is common for huge beasts, also with varied pyrotechnics, to parade alongside these Diables and Tabalers, making the event even more impressive.
In Diables, you will be in charge of a "colla". You will have to reorganize its members and distribute the pyrotechnics among the different acts performed during the "correfoc", making sure to take photos and record videos at the most spectacular moments, and above all, to impress those attending the show, so that your colla gains the prestige and fame it deserves. Furthermore, it is possible that while playing, you will learn something about this beautiful tradition and end up loving it as much as we do.
