It's opening day, and the city's best musicals are competing to fill their theaters for the entire season. To make your musical the most successful, you'll need to attract and position the right audience.
The public needs the best seats possible. But it won't be easy. Word has gotten out, and the city's biggest celebrities, officials, and press don't want to miss such a glamorous event. Will you be able to find them the best spots? Now, if you'll excuse me, the show is about to begin!
Take a Seat introduces an innovative mechanic called Share & Write, where randomness is created by player interaction (rather than a die or a card). On each turn, players receive a reservation panel and must decide whether to use the usher's ability or score points directly. They then mark a reservation on the board to their right or left (depending on their turn) by scratching any of the four tickets on the reservation panel. Finally, they assign seats in the theater by marking the outlines and circles that correspond to the tickets selected in the previous step.
The game lasts 14 turns. Once the game is over, final scoring takes place. There are three scoring areas: objective cards, reserve majorities, and the usher bonus. Players add up all their points to obtain their total score. The player with the highest score wins the game.
Take a Seat also includes its rules in English.
