The Battle of the Divas, designed by Albert Reyes (Adele) and with art by Javi de Castro and graphic design by Joao Duarte, is an exclusive game for 2 players that recreates the rivalry between the two great voices of 20th-century opera: Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi.
Following "The Battle of Versailles", The Battle of the Divas is the second title in the "Battles Without Bullets" collection, a series that explores historical rivalries but in which, as its title indicates, no bullets were fired.
In The Battle of the Divas, players take on the roles of Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi in their struggle for operatic supremacy. Throughout the game, each diva will perform great operas, accumulate fame, and experience key moments in her career along a timeline that chronicles her legacy.
The goal is to obtain more victory points than your rival, which is achieved through different strategies:
Performing iconic operas in the most prestigious theaters.
Skillfully manage Diva's cards, which include historical events, special abilities, and key moments in her career.
Mastering the piano and expanding your vocal range are key to unlocking new musical opportunities.
Managing influence within the orchestra and fame in theaters will allow for changes to the timeline and the gain of decisive advantages.
The game ends when five operas have been performed. At that point, the points earned in theaters, orchestra, piano, and timeline are added up to determine who has left the most indelible mark on the history of opera.
Will it be Callas's overwhelming charisma or Tebaldi's vocal perfection that conquers glory? Only the stage will tell.
